Frank Benowitz

Chef Instructor Frank Benowitz is employed by Mercer County Community College, West Windsor, NJ, in the HRIM/Culinary Department and teaches a multitude of culinary and hospitality courses.

Spending only a few years working in hotels and restaurants, much of his culinary knowledge is a result of culinary book study/classes and working for experienced Chefs - absorbing their culinary knowledge. Recently, Chef Benowitz successfully completed Harvard University’s course entitled Science and Cooking: From Haute Cuisine to Soft Matter Science.

Chef Benowitz & Chef Fee co-host a local, award-winning TV show, “Dish It Out”, now in its 15th season (episodes are available via MCTV on YouTube). Additionally, Chef Benowitz co-produced the video: “The Art of Food Presentation”. This video earned two Silver Telly awards and is shown in many culinary schools throughout North America.

In 2019, Chef Benowitz won his 15th consecutive NJ State People’s Choice Salsa Championship (mango salsa). In 2013, Chef Benowitz won 2nd Place in the NJ State Seafood Challenge held at the Governor’s Mansion.

Chef Benowitz has worked with/for several well-known Chefs, such as: Robert Irvine, Walter Scheib, Ellie Krieger, Michael Voltaggio,

Fabio Vivani, Ayesha Curry, Aaron McCargo, Jr., Nicholas Elmi, Jose Garces, Cat Cora, Sara Moulton, Bobby Flay, Neal Fraser, Evan Funke, Paula Deen, Joe Beddia, Rick Bayless and Emeril Lagasse.
