Christian Hackenberg
Christian Hackenberg was a pivotal figure in Penn State’s post-sanction era, starting as a true freshman in 2013 under head coach Bill O’Brien. He led the Nittany Lions to a 7-5 record and a thrilling win in the Pinstripe Bowl, earning Big Ten Freshman of the Year honors. Over three seasons, Hackenberg rewrote the school’s record books, becoming the program’s all-time leader in passing yards, completions, and total offense at the time. His strong arm and leadership helped lay the foundation for Penn State’s rebuild. Drafted by the New York Jets in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft, Hackenberg later had brief stints with several NFL teams before moving into coaching and sports mentorship.

Michael Mauti
Michael Mauti was a heart-and-soul leader of the Penn State football program during one of the most challenging eras in its history. A hard-hitting linebacker and team captain, Mauti became the emotional anchor of the 2012 team that stayed united in the face of adversity. He was a first-team All-Big Ten selection and earned All-American honors for his on-field excellence and inspirational leadership. After Penn State, Mauti was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in 2013 and Special Teams Captain for the New Orleans Saints 2015-2017, where he made a memorable blocked punt touchdown reminiscent of Steve Gleason in 2005
