Kevyn Pratt

From humble beginnings, Chef Kevyn Pratt overcame many health obstacles as a child. He had two open heart surgeries, which resulted in him being limited in physical activities during his   childhood. However, he was always very active and loved to be around people. This energy and passion for people is where Chef Kevyn found his calling in Culinary Arts. He is a graduate of the University of The Bahamas with an Associate's Degree in Culinary Arts and also of Johnson and Wales University (North Miami Campus) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Food Service Management with a Concentration in Baking and Pastry Arts.

With over a decade’s worth of Culinary experience, Chef Kevyn quickly excelled in the kitchen. He started off as a Line Cook at the popular Restaurant Anthony’s Grill, where he was promoted to Lead Cook at the age of 20. He then moved on to The One and Only Ocean Club as a Chef de Partie where he worked with some of The Bahamas’ Top Chefs including, Emmanuel Gibson, Wayne Moncur and Angel Betancourt. Chef Kevyn then went on to work at Resorts World Bimini as a Sous Chef, being a Part of the opening of the team at The Hilton Hotel. After his time in Bimini, Chef Kevyn returned home where he took the role as Sous Chef of Dune Restaurant by Jean Georges. During that time, he was awarded an opportunity to train at the 3 Michelin Star Jean Georges Restaurant in New York City, ABC Kitchen, Mercer Kitchen and ABC Cocina. Kevyn also took a part time job imparting his knowledge to the younger generation at the University of The Bahamas as a Culinary Professor. Chef Kevyn continued his career advancement as he landed the Position as Executive Chef of Royal Blue Tavern by Rosewood at Baha Mar.

To accompany his years of experience, Chef Kevyn has had the honor of receiving numerous awards, medals and distinctions for his dedication and skill. Some which include Being a member of The Bahamas National Culinary Team for several years. A Gold Medalist in Junior Chef of The Year at the Taste of The Caribbean competition, along with Most Innovative Dish at the Taste of The Caribbean competition in 2011. W.S.E.T Level 2 Certification. Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Inductee & member 2014. Gold Medal at Zer Congreso Gastronomico Baja California Mexico 2015. Gold Medal Team of the Year Taste of Caribbean 2018. Gold Medal and Winner of The Caribbean Celebrity Chef of The Year at the Rum & Rhythm Festival in New York City 2018. Bahamas’ Top 40 Under 40 Most influential Professionals and The Caribbean Journal Travel Chef of The Year 2020.

Currently Chef Kevyn resides in Los Angeles as the Private Chef for former NBA Superstar Dwyane Wade, and Mega Star Actress Gabrielle Union-Wade and Wade Enterprises.
